For All the Saints: A Liturgical Art Showcase

Auto Date Tuesday, March 20th, 2007

Pardon the shameless self-promotion, but if you go to my main site, you can find information about this gallery show which is currently up in the Pembina Hills Art Gallery in Morden, MB.  There is a newly-made gallery of photos from the show, as well as a PDF explaining the thought processes behind the show as a whole, and some of the original pieces.

One further website update:  There is now a photo gallery on the bottom left of the main page: “Churches of Winnipeg.”  These photos of historic churches were taken by me and my husband when we did a tour last fall, and there are some really beautiful images to be found there, especially in the realm of stained glass.

Those are all really good. I espesially like the paintings in 3 and 6. But I have a question as to who is portrayed in the 5th image. I’m thinking that it is a young Jesus. But the lilies throw me off, as those are usually used to represent Saint Joseph, but it seems to young to be him. Could you clairify who that is for me please.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you… The painting of the stained glass, vested figure with lilies is an angel. Possibly at the Anunciation, where you often see that gesture of peace.
